and India all through study abroad at IU. In Chile, I studied journalism and enjoyed the local wineries. In India, I studied the booming IT business, ate fantastic cuisine and visited the Taj Mahal. And in Costa Rica, I volunteered with the Rich Coast Project to document the stories and traditions of the natives of Puerto Viejo, a small costal town that is facing transformation from modern tourism. I'm excited to add Tanzania to my passport and continue my pursuit of travel, environmental activism and the great outdoors.

Best Travel Memory: Stargazing in the Chilean desert, which is known for having the best skies for stargazing in all of the Southern Hemisphere.

Someone Who Inspires You (and Why!): My aunt, because she is a self-starter and self-made woman who perseveres in the face of every obstacle she faces. She is the one who pushes me to step outside my comfort zone and organize my ambitions, like how exactly I plan to collect a million cans in one year!

 

Why You Want to Climb: This trip is an amalgam of everything I love: the physical challenge of conquering Kili, the desire to see and experience as many new places as humanly possible, and of course, the extremely important mission to take care of our planet and live a sustainable life.
